<p><b>A snapshot of a prominent conceptual artist's interiority, as reproduced in this facsimile edition notebook</b></p><p>Lucy R. Lippard described Lee Lozano (1930-99) as "the foremost conceptual artist of her time." Her paintings, drawings and performative projects scrutinized socialized gender and body politics, and energetically critiqued norms of respectability and behavioral customs.<br>Last added to January 31, 1972, this is the penultimate volume in a set of 11 facsimile editions of Lozano's journals. Alluding to her own nonlinear, slippery logic, she wrote: "THIS IS BK 10 WHICH IS CONTINUED FROM BK 3 WHICH WAS CONTINUED FROM BK 1" on the journal's first page. A later entry notes: "VISIT DAN GRAHAM 1:30 AM. WE WALK TO DAVE'S CORNER, I LEAVE NOTE FOR NORMAN, DAN &amp; I DECIDE NOT TO STAY TOGETHER TONITE." This pocket-size notebook, chock-full of ideas for her work, quotidian scheduling notations and personal reflections, offers an intimate view of an elusive artist.</p>
